Marking the beginning of a new design and space initiative, Sarita Handa, one of the country's leading luxury lifestyle companies for textile and furniture, has opened its second store in Mumbai. Sarita Handa has come a long way since she began her eponymous home furnishing collection from a workshop in Tughlaqabad in New Delhi in 1992. Handa launched her flagship store in the country's capital in 2011 and then set up shop in Mumbai with her first store at Mahalaxmi in 2015.

Designed against the beautiful Bandra backdrop, the 680-square-foot space welcomes in natural light into its minimal yet colourful setting. The store promises to be a visual treat, blending traditional and contemporary elements that embody the brand's lifestyle. The foyer features beautiful greens, while the store's brass accents create a bright and warm space.

Sarita Handa Retail Experience

The Bandra store offers a curated range of home decor with an emphasis on the brand's much-loved cushions, bedding and upholstery fabrics. The store facilitates a more customized and accessible shopping experience with on-site interior experts. For Sarita Handa, the aim of the new store is to make weaves, threadwork and hand embroideries more accessible to its patrons.

Amith Chhabra, interior designer at Livin' Colors Design, says the signature design aesthetic for the store is modern, clean and understated, reflecting the brand's personality. The store also features Handa's new white-on-white Spring/Summer collection. “With the Bandra store, we are bringing design closer to our patrons, while at the same time working at the grassroots to keep supporting Indian handicrafts that are so integral to India,” says Suparna Handa, brand director at Sarita Handa.
