With India making a big bang at theVenice Biennalethis year, other galleries too are encouraged and inspired to showcase homegrown talent globally. Since 2016 DAG, New Delhi has been a part of the Masterpiece Fair in London. Their finest instances of Indian modern art have initiated conversations amidst inquisitive minds. This year the gallery is set to display rare collections from India at the coveted event.
New Delhi x London | An Indulgent Affair
Masterpiece London is an art fair that allows visitors to observe as well as purchase works of art, design, furniture and jewellery; it will be held from June 27 to July 3, 2019. Being the only Indian gallery to have participated at Masterpiece London before, DAG this year will be exhibiting exemplary works of twentieth century Indian Art.
New Delhi x London | Hall of Fame
On display will be pieces from artists such as Kshitindranath Majumdar and Bikash Bhattacharjee from the Bengal School, F.N. Souza and S.H. Raza from the Bombay-based Progressive Artists' Group, J. Sultan Ali who represents the indigenous modernism of the Madras Art Movement, Jamini Roy and Madhvi Parekh, who identify themselves as folk-like modernists, Biren De and G.R. Santosh from the meditational neo-tantra along with various other abstractionists such as Shantii Dave.
New Delhi x London | Expansion Plans
DAG is also set to expand its gallery space. Over the next few months, the renowned brand will add three new galleries in New Delhi. The Experience Centre will be the second space to provide complete art experience and will house art, archives along with a library and research centre and a restoration studio.
