理查德Chadha and Ali Fazal have put a ring on it, the latest to enter the 'just-married' club. The couple hosted theirweddingfestivities in Mumbai, with close friends and family in attendance. Taking to Instagram to share a glimpse of the memorable affair, Ali wrote, 'Ek Daur hum bhi hain. Ek silsila tum bhi ho.' The details of Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal's Delhi wedding festivities were revealed earlier, celebrating their union at the 110-year-old luxurious Gymkhana Club. However, one of the most exciting aspects of their Mumbai wedding reception is the venue it is being held at – The Great Eastern Mills in Byculla, a 176-year-old mill turned furniture store and event space.

The gorgeous space located in the heart of Mumbai’s textile district, which has survived the trials of Indian independence and the tumultuous political history it followed is now a celebrated store, displaying fine furniture, art and collectibles in what once were the giant warehouses of a bustling mill. High ceilings, aged wooden beams, cast-iron columns and exposed brick and stonewalls, all restored with minimal intervention, present a charming backdrop to a magnificent ensemble. It all inspires an overarching feeling of stepping into a delightful world of treasures, making it a fresh wedding venue to explore.

Spread over 60,000 square feet in one of Mumbai’s oldest textile mills, it houses not only a collection of furniture, decorative arts, antiques, and home accessories but also its own design studio comprising of an international team of designers, decorators, and architects. It is reported that the decor for the venue will be done to match the bride and groom's personal tastes, adding to the already magnificent backdrop.

The extremely well-travelled owner Anurag Kanoria’s passion for furniture and history is apparent in his way of speaking about craftsmanship. In addition to displaying objets d’art, the store provides a platform for artists, photographers, and sculptors to exhibit their works as part of curated shows. Although the brand has a presence inVikhroli, the Byculla property, which includes the original mill structures and century-old chimney, boasts a ‘light room’ which is essentially 10,000 square feet of remarkable ceiling, wall and floor lighting options.

Everything in the space only serves to heighten your evocative mood. Your gaze is compelled to take in the multitude of fine objects in one sweep, and you are tempted to linger over every single detail. Look up, and richly gilded and coloured glass chandeliers twinkle bewitchingly amidst intricately carved ceiling panels; look around, and your eyes travel across centuries of styles arrayed in eclectic harmony; a splendid example of a collection curated with passion and a flair for visualizing the unconventional. The grandeur of Baroque, the glamour of the French style, the nature-inspired exuberance of Art Nouveau, the subtle grace of艺术装饰风格, and the timeless appeal of the Colonial style are among those that find expression in all the fine furniture showcased.
