Wielding an amalgamation of traditional and modern materials, the firm’s designs exude layers of imageries and narratives.

Studio Wood’s new line of furniture is a poetic blend of form and texture

“Figment” by Studio Wood is inspired by Indian craftsmanship, while simultaneously re-interpreting modern materiality.

Studio Wood has launched a collection of furniture consisting of chairs, consoles and tables inspired by the very roots of their vision. Aiming to fuse the old and new, the real and the imaginary, Figments is a celebration of recollections from the past, and of stories meandering amidst memories.

Figments flourishes as a line of furniture that brings backs memories from the past, and generates narratives for the present. As tradition meets contemporary design, this creative line of furniture celebrates artisanship as well as industrial experimentation.

The classic forms of the furniture, ranging between linear and circular, reflect styles of abstract minimalism. Expressing opacity and transparency, tracery and homogeneity, this furniture series contrasts intricacy with expansiveness.

Ranging between delicacy and solidity, every piece of this line projects a sense of individualism of form and style. Exploring the combinations of cane and wood as binaries, with traces of steel, the products stand out for their contrasting textural synthesis.

Rendered with earthy colours—from subtle ochres to burnt siennas—the series exudes dimensions of rusticity. Framing intricate patterns with bold forms, the Figment series conveys a subtle narrative with every piece.
