Today more than ever, it has become crucial to keep thehome spotless clean. Although it is proven that COVID-19 spreads through close contact with an infected person, the possibility of transmission through contaminated surfaces has not been ruled out. As per various reports, this virus can survive on different surfaces like metal, plastic, porcelain and so on for upto three days. Therefore, make it a point to clean and disinfect your home at least once a day—cleaning ensures that all germs, dirt and other impurities are removed from the surface. Here is a list of different types of high-touch surfaces that require regular cleaning and disinfecting to lower the chances of infection.

Hard Surfaces

The frequently touched hard surfaces include door knobs, door bell, handrails, light switches, kitchen cabinets, handles, microwave door, the refrigerator door, dining or work tables and kitchen countertops. If any of these surfaces are dirty, then clean them with warm soapy water. This should be followed by a dry wipe. Ammonia based cleaners can be used to wipe the windows and mirrors.

For the purpose of disinfecting you can opt for an all-purpose cleaner, create ahomemade disinfectantwith a mixture of 4 teaspoons of bleach and one litre of water or opt for a solution of 70 percent isopropyl alcohol. For the bathroom, use chlorine-based disinfectants to clean the toilet bowl, flush button, sink and toilet seat.

Electronic Goods
